This year's Topps online giveaway is live.
There is a pretty good run down here about how the site works and what to expect. I have several cards around here, but I haven't redeemed them yet.
Let us know what you get in the comments or post a link to your blog if you put it up. I'm curious to see what everyone gets and what you think of the giveaway.
I sort of gave up the Million Card Giveaway last year and had a leftover of cards I never redeemed.
If you don't have any cards for this year, you can also find them on eBay. They are going Seems they are going for about $1 card right now.
I don't know if he'll be doing it again, but one blogger (I think it was Play at the Plate) ended up pooling everyone's unused codes/crappy cards together to form a mega collection and trade for some much better stuff. Probably could have used your unredeemed cards hahaha.
ReplyDeletePosted early this morning that site was live and first card redeemed was a 1996 Javy Lopez. About an hour ago, redeemed my last two cards; 1969 Jack Shepard and 1973 Raymond Lamb. Last check was that trading wasn't active and the "digging" was not working properly.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be funner if you could redeem these codes for diamond anniversary parallels or something cool from this set so that it would be worth redeeming on people who collect current players. It would also create more traffic for trading in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do not collect the chrome with all it's various color bordered cards, Topps could have done something along your idea. Maybe create a special 60 cards and have them tiered into say Yellow, Blue, Green, or Pink diamond parallel cards. These are colors that diamonds are found naturally.
ReplyDeleteI second ShaneK's suggestion, that would be a neat idea. Maybe the higher tiers could also be special die cut cards with some sort of diamond theme?
ReplyDeleteI don't know about anyone else, but I'm not excited about the chance to unlock more virtual 1991 Pudge Rodriguez cards.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been cooler if the codes redeemed new cards associated with this set.
I will probably include any codes I end up with in somebody's trade package.
