Sooz's eBay Cards

I don't sell cards often on eBay because usually I am too lazy to list them. However, over the past couple of weeks, I have been slowly putting cards on eBay. Here's my list. There are about 30 cards on here.

Take a peek. There is something you will like.

My Kapler Problem

Everyone has different reasons for collecting certain players. They were your childhood hero or you loved the way they pitch. Perhaps the guy is from your hometown or went to your college. I collect Jeter because I was 16 when the Yankees beat the Braves in 1996 and he became my baseball God.

I collect Kevin Kouzmanoff because he is from Macedonia (or Serbia depending on who you ask) and my family is from that area of the world and I felt a little tie to him because of it.

Gabe Kapler - there is really no good reason to collect his cards other than the fact that I think he is hot. When I had season tickets to the Yankees in Section 39, I used to scream to him like a retard because I thought he was awesome. Well, awesome looking.

My Kapler card collection is up to 70 cards and he is on the bench of my fantasy baseball team, the real fantasy baseball team.

Obviously, I have issues and just thought I would share since I added a ton of cards to my collection today.

More Jeter Inserts?

Everyone loves Derek Jeter. He's everyone's favorite player. Is he the best? No, but he is a gamer and that's why people love him.

It's no secret that I collect Jeter cards as well, which makes my card hunting pretty difficult. However, there is another Jeter insert in 2008 hobby packs and it's kind of annoying me. First, there were the three mini sets in Upper Deck S1 of Mr. November, Jeter Chronicles and O-Pee-Chee reprints. For the record, I still don't have all of them.

Now, there is the Jeter Retrospectrum in UD Spectrum. It's a 100-card set of all wonderful Jeter moments. Great. I have about 10 of them, which isn't going to get me close and really I have no desire to try and collect all of them either.

I have a few sets that I am trying to build and adding this to my list is going to give me a headache. This is what I am working on right now:

ARod Road to 500
Kouzmanoff rookie cards
Jeter UD S1 inserts
All Jeter base (this one is a little drastic, but a girl can dream)

I am loosely collecting all Jeter Moments and Milestone cards.

With these types of collections going, I don't have time to focus on another.

2008 UD Spectrum Blaster #2

This one ended up being more fun (and no that doesn't mean I got a Jeter or a Pujols card... I didn't).

I did get one Yankee Stadium Legacy card:
- 5309 - Bernie Williams

2 Jeter Retrospectrum cards:
- DJ48
- DJ72

and....................... the game used portion of this blog.....

Spectrum DUAL SWATCHES 74/99 Vernon Wells & Alex Rios

That card alone more than pleased me for my $22 bucks.

So let's hear it, has anyone else pulled anything cool like this? Anyone get any numbered Jeter Retrospectrum cards, or GU Cards?

Blaster #3 coming up... stay tuned.

2008 UD Spectrum Blaster #1

I will start with my usual gripe, no Jeter & no Pujols cards.

I got 2 Yankee Stadium Legacy cards:
-251 - Urban Shocker
-276 - Lou Gehrig

1 Jeter Retrospectrum Card, DJ 57

The GU card was a Retrospectrum Swatches card of Adrian Gonzalez... whatever.

I felt this box was ok for what I paid for it, and because the reason I went to Target was not to buy this box anyway. The only real thing that made this not fun to open, was that you only get 4 cards to a pack, 7 packs to a box which translates into about 3 minutes of fun for $22.

Blaster #2 to follow shortly... as well as... (sigh) Blaster #3 (only because I walked through Target and discovered no one bought the 3rd box that was there yesterday, so I felt obligated to snarf it.)

You Know You Have a Problem When:

You go to Walmart to buy batteries and come out with $25 worth of baseball cards, you definitely didn't need.

I bought two boxes of Upper Deck Series 1 Super Star packs just to see what Superstars cards I would get. I am sure that for less than $20 I could have gotten the Derek Jeter SS card. I did get it, which is great because I get to add it to my collection, but you get the point.

Since I'm here, I also got Ichiro, Vladimir Guerrero, Hanley Ramirez, David Wright and Prince Fielder super star cards.

You also get two Yankee Stadium Legacy cards a box along with 75 UD S1 cards. I got
4 - Babe Ruth
29 - Wally Pipp
32 - Wally Pipp
57 Waite Hoyt

Two Questions

Do you think Mr. Met's head is heavy when he is running around?

Do you think he's banged chicks while wearing the head, or making them wear it?
