Important Info about Gypsy Queen

I just received an e-mail from Topps informing us that there has been an issue with the distribution of relics and autographs in the hobby boxes. Here is what Topps has advised customers to do.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The much anticipated 2011 Topps Gypsy Queen Baseball officially streets today (4/27) and overall the product looks great, but it has come to our attention that not all hobby boxes include the originally solicited 2 Autograph & 2 Relic guarantee (some contain 3 Relics & 1 Autograph). Any customer missing an autograph from their box will be taken care of. Please mail in the box’s UPC code to Topps to receive a Gypsy Queen replacement autograph card.

  1. that's funny... this "issue" has been known about since saturday when the product hit the 'bay...
    good reaction time Topps.

But at least they're doing something about it. Unfortunately it will devalue the autos some as EVERYONE will send in their upc code, even the ones where there are two autos...

  4. Quality Control? Do they have a QC program?

  5. Lately, Topps QC has meant "Quite Crappy"...

  6. of course topps has no quality control. Dinged corners, notches from 2010 and 2011 cards and two of my three boxes of 2010 topps update were missing the guaranteed box hit or relic.

I wonder if topps is making any money for the private investors with all the screwups/redemption programs considering it costs them over $2 per mailing to send me 2010 update replacement for guaranteed hits and for the wrapper redemption programs I've participated in.

Topps should just pull a UD - not guarantee anything and call it an "average over the print run" so they aren't locked into guaranteeing what its you'll get from a box of cards and having to spend a lot of money in mailing and handling to fulfill wrapper redemptions and box hit makegoods.
