Even without playing, Tim Tebow gives collectors a reason to chase

The Denver Broncos quarterback controversy is giving collectors reason to swoop up cards of Tim Tebow.

Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner during his colllege career with the University of Florida Gators, is currently listed as the team's third-string quarterback, behind Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn.

Orton has struggled so far this season, throwing an interception and losing a fumble in a week one Monday Night loss to rival Oakland. Orton led Denver to a 24-22 win over Cincinnati Sunday, throwing two touchdowns.

But the calls for a new QB persist.

Quinn, a star during his Notre Dame days, has started 12 NFL games, most recently for the Cleveland Browns in 2009.

Tebow started three games last year, throwing five touchdowns and three interceptions.

Tebow and Quinn form the most handsome backup QB tandem in the league.

Beyond looks, Tebow has the fan support and star power - along with a team expected to struggle - to make his starting inevitable. Because of those factors, some hard-to-find Tebow cards are available online.

A 2010 Topps Supreme 1/1 three-color patch autograph is listed on eBay. So is a 1/1 2010 Topps sketch card featuring Tebow's artwork - a diagram of a pass pattern.

Another autographed 1/1 - 2010 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket - is also available for the right price.

This 2010 UD Exquisite autographed jersey card features a two-color swatch from Tebow's college days.

Another interesting card is this green die-cut autograph from 2010 Crown Royale. The autograph is a sticker! But it's a cool die-cut rookie card for the man who might soon be the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.
