Topps will be the National this week and has invited a group of people attending to the show to ask them questions and do a meet and greet with officials from Topps.
Mike Mader writes on Topps' website: "I decided to put together a small panel discussion and meet and greet with some Topps executives where we can sit and discuss some of the issues in the hobby, how we at Topps can do some things better, and have a few beers."
Marie and I will be attending the National and fully plan on getting into this event. They are giving away a limited number of tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Many of you will not be going to the National, but we are hoping to bring you back an experience. There will be video going on at Freedcom Cardboard and a blog dedicated to just the national by many of the bloggers. We will also be writing from there right here at A Cardboard Problem.
For those of you who cannot make the panel, which is Thursday, are there any questions or ideas that you would like us to bring up? I'll put together a list and bring up as much as I can. Also, we plan to do a full recap afterward.
please ask the following question on my behalf. Feel free to give them my email if requested.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr Topps representitives. Regarding your high end football and baseball products, Are you on CRACK????
Thanks, and god bless,
Canuck.
Hey Sooz. Do you know what time the discussion will be on Thursday? I haven't decided if I'll head over Wednesday or Thursday but this would definitely push me to Thursday if there's a chance I can get in. If I don't make it, please ask the following: Topps, why do you have one of the worst designed websites, ever? How about timely product release updates, checklists, more user friendly, etc. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to charge so much, how 'bout a little quality control? It seems especially lacking this year, from the physical nature of the cards to 'guaranteed' insert seeding.

ReplyDeleteI'm going! Hope to meet you guys!
ReplyDeleteAre there any plans for a Chris Coghlan pie-in-the-face gimmick for Updates & Highlights?
ReplyDeleteNow since you have a monopoly in baseball, when will the gimmicks stop?
ReplyDeleteHow about that it sucks to have to send in all of your wrappers and cut up your box to get the hit that they advertised?
ReplyDeleteThat they should hire bloggers for their design department and think tank. It would really improve the product and I need a job. LOL
ReplyDeleteWill you pretty please bring back Topps Total?
ReplyDeleteThis statement is for marie about our favorite player:
ReplyDeleteNews: Lind will see some time at first base over the course of the remainder of the season, the team's official site reports.
Spin: The Jays are looking to see if Lind can handle first base given that Lyle Overbay is a free agent after trading away prospect Brett Wallace. Lind's already appeared in three games at first base this season and may already be eligible depending on your league rules.
Question for topps:
Will they ever make their jersey cards bigger than one inch by one inch from now on? Why can't they make all the jersey cards at least 2.5 x 2.5 and actually give you something to feel? Make it a standard so to speak.
When are they ever going to update their site? The last checklist they added was series 1...
ReplyDeleteAsk why they changed Finest the last 2 years. It used to be 3 mini boxes with an auto in each (18 packs) to 2 mini boxes with an auto in each (12 packs). The price stayed the same - 1 less auto and 6 less pack. I collected the 2005-2008 sets and stopped when the 2009 came out because of it. Also, the patch letter ruined the product for me. They need to go back to the on card rookie auto and the 3 mini box config.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, can you pass the word that I have an extra front row seat by the dugout to the game tomorrow night in case someone wants to go?
ReplyDeleteI'll be wearing my Texas Ranger shirt tomorrow and should be easy to spot lol! My friend came down with some sickness today and can no longer go, so I don't want to let it waste.
Thx!
Kevin
Ask when they plan to fix the eTopps baseball challenge program. I think I won a week, but you never know for sure because the scoring is all messed up.
