Cuts 4 Cut - Anti-Franken Mantle Card

The other day Sooz blogged about a Franken Mantle card that was just awful in every sense of the word. Today, as usual I was trolling eBay searching for goofy things I don't need, can't afford, or whatever and I discovered an interesting resemblance to the that ugly card.

I'll tell you what I think.... I think this was probably a dumb idea 4 years ago and there was a left over picture in perfectly good condition that appeared one day with a note saying, "Hey, you forgot to chop me up and make me into an ugly card."

Call me goofy...

but I want to buy this card just because he knew our blog and said he reads it.

On a related note, I am almost done getting the 206 boxes together. Most if not all should get mailed tomorrow. I tried to give a little more base cards to the teams that pulled nothing, not even an SP. Some teams didn't end up with an SP and only had 1 mini, so if you had 2 hits or a 1/1.... your starter set is a little wimpy. I hope that makes sense to everyone but it was the easiest way to split up cards between 20 something people without giving doubes back to anyone.

2010 Topps T-206 Case Break

Wheeeeee!!!!

The case of 2010 Topps T206 has arrived!! I announced it on Twitter, then realized there may be some people who don't use Twitter.

I'm going to test my equipment out and make sure everything is working and then we can figure out when to break it.

I'm excited to open the case, and to have something to blog about. My brain has been empty lately of card ideas. I still love you all, though. =)

Going to hook up the camera now and try out the whole thing and see where I'm at. I'll send an update along shortly.

Strasburg and our Case Break

Let me start by saying there was no need to rush this kid into the big leagues. If the Nationals were EVER a contender to win something, then MAYBE I would understand the logic. I know that doesn't make it right or wrong, but if they were in first place it would be easier to comprehend the rush. When baseball players get drafted they tend to spend more than one game in each level of the minors. I feel bad for the kid to be honest. I also hope that he is able to come back just as strong and doesn't let this get him down.

With all that being said, our case of 2010 Topps T-206 is set to arrive on Wednesday. I posted an earlier blog asking for a preference of when to break it so if you could scroll down and reply there and let me know. Now, this post is going to require a different type of response...

2010 Topps T-206 Case Info

I made the final payment on the case this week with Blowout Cards. I was told that the case should arrive Wednesday on the release date.

We could break the case Wednesday or Thursday evening. Let me know which day works best so we could do it on a video break. Obviously watching the entire thing is totally up to you and you can probably view it at another time if you can't be there for the whole thing. I am hoping to do the break through uStream.

Upcoming Case Break Info

As some of you may know we are doing two case breaks in the near future, 2010 Topps T206 and 2010 Bowman Chrome (hobby boxes). In order to get into the Bowman Chrome break you must have a team in the T206 break, and can claim that team OR the person who has the rights to that team does not wish to participate in the break.

2010 Topps T-206 Case Break

So here is the deal on our very first case break. We will go with Option 2 on everyone getting some base cards plus the complete team set of their team, and their teams inserts, gu, autos.

Blowout Cards has quoted a price delivered on the case of T-206 and I really think this is a great case to break, there were great auto's in this product last year and I know I enjoyed it.

This will make it approximately $26 per team over 29 teams, with Strasburg being sold for $ back.

I think this is affordable for everyone without making price tiers. I am thinking $30 each including shipping and packaging would work. I would like to try and get the deposit to them by Friday, or just pay it in full would be even better.
