I got this hobby box for my birthday and I was saving it for a snowy or bored day. Well, that day has come. I am trying to open things slowly so that I don't buy anything. I opened the top 6 packs in the box and figured I would share what I got (or didn't get) so far.
I'll start with the 2008 Updates & Highlights cards:
-UH110 Jose Valverde
-UH111 Brandon Boggs
-UH115 Mike Lamb
-UH118 Classic Combos Morneau & Ortiz
-UH174 D.J. Carasco
-UH192 Craig Hansen
-UH202 Josh Hamilton (Hello, Hamiltonian)
-UH227 Carlos Quentin
-UH230 Jason Jennings
-UH245 Ryan Braun
-UH301 Tony Pena
Out of 6 packs, I got one black back parallel of (538) Brian Bucscher, Twins.

One Then & Now of Early Wynn/Alex Rodriguez, and one Rookie Performers of Max Scherzer.

2 Chrome cards: C258 Darrell Rasner, and C261 Marco Scutaro- both /1959

1 Chrome Refractor: C236 Glen Perkins /559

The Perkins refractor, and Rasner chrome were in the first pack I opened. Obviously there were a ton of base cards, none of which were interesting. I did get a Mike Mussina card, but no other Yankees, and of course no Albert.
Here is the base list so far: 501, 511, 512, 514, 520, 530, 540, 550, 560, 570, 574, 593, 599, 600, 614, 622, 624, 626, 634, 637, 638, 649, 660, 665, 666, 670, 676, 680, 692, 714 (530 is Moose, and isn't for trade)
Now let's see how many stay sealed until tomorrow. My guess is 6-12, even though I swore I was only going to open 6.
Those Home Run Derby cards are the nicest looking, most well thought-out cards in the 2008 Topps set, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no ability to keep packs sealed once they entire my home. I admire your willpower.
ReplyDeletehey nice packs, i would b interested in the perkins chrome and the buscher. let me know please
ReplyDeleteI think the All Star Game cards in general are the best out of that whole series. I wish I had the motivation to collect just those cards, but I have enough going on now.
ReplyDeleteI would be willing to trade the cards, if you have some Pujols stuff. The Perkins in a refractor also.
P.S. I have like no willpower, but right now I have less money than everything else so willpower is winning most times.
P.P.S. I opened 3 more packs, I'll share the details later.
