2008 Topps Heritage High Series Packs 13-24

I was only going to open 6 more, but then the last 6 looked lonely... and I was bored.

Here is what I thought of the rest of the box: ZzZzZzZzZzZzZz

I am not making the effort of listing the rest of the cards because there was nothing exciting really. I may make a list of all of them later, or log them into Beckett for reference. I scanned the Chrome cards, and the Refractor that I got as well as some inserts. That's all. It was snoozetown on the remainder of the box with no Yankees, and no one that really interested me. I pulled about 4 Shoppach cards and the same on Dellucci. Great!

For now they are all in numerical order awaiting the verdict on where they will end up.

2008 Topps Heritage High Series Packs 6-12

I opened packs 6-12 in order in the box, without skipping around and here is how it panned out.

Nikita Khrushchev Authentic Stadium Seat hand numbered (by who) 40/59... I should be happy or something about this, but it's gonna end up on eBay because I saw one completed listing for $65.

The more I am thinking about the Khrushchev card, the more I like it if I can get the same amount for mine. I have no use for these random historical cards, I bought the box for baseball cards, not for stadium seats that may have been sat in by the guy on the card. Now if he signed the card, then it would be a cool piece of history.

I got this hobby box for my birthday and I was saving it for a snowy or bored day. Well, that day has come. I am trying to open things slowly so that I don't buy anything. I opened the top 6 packs in the box and figured I would share what I got (or didn't get) so far.

I'll start with the 2008 Updates & Highlights cards:

1 Chrome Refractor: C236 Glen Perkins /559


The Perkins refractor, and Rasner chrome were in the first pack I opened. Obviously there were a ton of base cards, none of which were interesting. I did get a Mike Mussina card, but no other Yankees, and of course no Albert.

Now let's see how many stay sealed until tomorrow. My guess is 6-12, even though I swore I was only going to open 6.

2008 Heritage High Series Packs

I had an itch yesterday while I was out, and decided to scratch it with 2 packs of 2008 Topps Heritage High Series. The 4 Topps U&H cards I put away because I don't care about those, but I will tell you of my heist.

This scratched the itch. I got a GU Jersey card and a Chrome, so I ended up 2/2 on that adventure.

If anyone needs any of these, all are for trade except the Kershaw because I am gonna hold onto whatever cards of him I pull until we see what happens with him.

My next order of business are trades going out tomorrow. If we have already agreed upon a trade, your cards will be in the mail tomorrow because I am going to get them ready now while I was the Vikings/Eagles game and get annoyed by Joe Buck (that is another blog in itself).

Christmas Gifts

I know I promised you all a pack break blog, but it's 2:45am and I just finished wrapping my few presents after a day filled with errand running and cookie baking (not from scratch, I'm not that motivated). I was planning on breaking some 07 UD Elements, but we needed to get food and all kinds of junk for tomorrow and Christmas day.

I have discovered that when you have little to no money, wrapping presents is a breeze because there aren't many. Oddly enough, the 2 people who got the most presents from me, are also the only two people I purchased cards for. Neither are my parents, which makes me seem a little goofy perhaps. I tend to get carried away with some people because you are out shopping and you see something, and if it's only a few dollars, you are like, "ohhh, a present topper", but then when you buy like 5 of those you look like me- someone who went overboard. I'm not sure if it counts when I also purchased the same things for myself?

My mom was wrapping the last of her presents today and said to me that Christmas has gotten way out of control for most people. It seems like every year people get more and more, and get more carried away trying to "out-do" the year before. When my parents were younger they got like one or two presents and that was it. They didn't get to buy things everyday like we do now. So it seems as though a lot of people from her generation tend to spoil their kids and or grandkids (which she does not have thank God).

In light of carried away, and what not, I purchased a random rack pack from Target of 08 Heritage High Series, and in the pack I pulled TWO Brian Burres cards. Thanks Topps. I also got a Chrome Mike Napoli, and then the rest was air. I'll scan it later, I'm too tired.

Tomorrow after all the eating, and when my pants finally pop open, I will park myself back here and break some packs after I tell you all about the many surprises I got in the mail. Sooz is coming over on Christmas so perhaps we will have some sort of card related story for all of you.

2008 Topps Stadium Club Beam Team...

I managed to get my brother on the cardboard bandwagon for my birthday, which worked out great for me. He bought me a hobby box of Heritage High Series that I have been waiting to open for a week now and a sweet Robinson Cano autograph from the 2008 Topps Stadium Club.

I really want to open the box but I ate so much cake I'm literally falling asleep from the sugar. I don't normally eat that much sugar, so I'm coming down quickly from that high.
