For argument's sake, let's say this is not a fake signature. Can someone tell me how this ended up on what looks to be a Yankees jersey before Granderson has even signed any papers?

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for whoever buys this thing... I highly doubt #28 would be worn by Granderson when he becomes a Yankee.
See...#28 is worn by Melky Cabrera, who's been playing in the Yanks outfield the past few years. but it seems that Joe Girardi may very well want that particular number just like he chose #27 (to inspire the team to keep focused on a 27th championship)
So I suspect that's a Melky jersey with a fake sig & a certificate that belongs to a totally diff jersey (one of Granderson?)
Cabrera is next on the block. He will not be a Yankee come spring.

ReplyDeleteHere's the deal: Curtis probably signed some numbers and those NUMBERS were authenticated. When the Granderson deal went down, the owner of said numbers sewed them onto a Yankee jersey. The certificate species a signed NUMBER. The jersey clearly is a replica, one that usually sells for $75.
