Do you have a tradition to the start of baseball season?
We are one week away from opening day. How do you start preparing?

Growing up, our family always had hot dogs for dinner on opening day, and it's something I still carry on with my own family now!
ReplyDeleteAlso, for the first time since I've started 'career' working, I'm taking opening day off to watch baseball all day long, and I plan on doing this until the day I retire. It will be fun to truly be paid to watch baseball!
I begin by thinking about how I hate the Twins and White Sox.
ReplyDeleteWe will most likely sacrifice a chicken of the KFC variety!
ReplyDeleteI'm preparing by attending the most difficult game in Minnesota to get into... harder than Game 7 of the '87 World Series... the VERY first Twins game ever to be held at Target Field... an exhibition game against the Cardinals... MVP vs MVP. We've built a tradition of attending the season/home opener each year. Even though it's technically a Spring Training game, watching the Twins take their new field for the very first time will be a privilege.
ReplyDeleteOh, and, sweingmachineguy... I hate the White Sox, too. ;)
My wife digs her little wooden sign out of the drawer and puts it atop the entertainment center. It reads : "This marriage has been temporarily put on hold for the baseball season"
ReplyDeleteI usually watch two baseball related movies - "The Natural" and...."For the Love of the Game"
ReplyDeleteDon't judge me - Vin Scully calls the play-by-play.
It's not really an Opening Day thing, but I get a new scorebook to start each season.
ReplyDeleteOpening day, on the couch with my mitt on and loudly popping a baseball into it, the sound of that speaks opening day to me.
