I just wanted to throw this out there for anyone awake right now, or for the morning. I have a ton of players for trade and I just want to get rid of the cards. I want Pujols cards obviously, and my want list of these is posted on the side. I have a ton of Smoltz, Maddux, Sheffield, Hafner, Ichiro, and some others. Please say you want them. Pretty, pretty please. I also have some UD Documentary for trades - trades will be for Pujols from this set or Yankees.
I just finished packing up some trades, eBay sales, and Tricia's prize and trades. One of the best perks of blogging is trading. I love getting bubble mailers full of Pujols cards, and Yankee Stadium Legacy. I also like getting rid of cards that are under-appreciated here, and will go to someone who cares about them. More importantly, it frees up space for Albert.
E-Mail me. I'm awake and will probably be reading more of Torre's book which I am almost half way done with. Great read so far.

Worst Set of 2008...

For a while I was convinced UD X was going to win that award, but I was wrong. This highly coveted award definitely goes to 2008 UD Documentary. By far the most useless waste of money this year. I just opened my blaster, and I got air. I lie, I got 2 Pujols, 1 Cano, 1 Jorge, 1 Nady, and 1 Tulo. But really, that isn't that great.
My biggest problem with this set is that there are cards stamped with the "Rookie Card" logo, yet give no indication of who that player is on the back, and some of them you can't see a uniform number or the back of them to know who you got. What is the point of that? The bigger rookies I know their faces, like Longoria for example. But other guys, they might as well have put Chewbacca on them because they would be worth the same to me.
Much like Sooz, I will be putting together a list of these to get rid of. However, I want to throw this out there: I am looking for all Pujols from this set, as well as Yankees. Even if you have one for a bunch of these, I don't care. I am only interesting in completing the Yankees and Pujols.
For $20 I got to waste like 10 minutes of my life on this blaster, and feel like I got a bunch of new stuff.
Has anyone opened some of these packs? More importantly, what do you think of this set and the idea of one card per game per team? Most importantly, do you have any Pujols or Yankees? =) Let us know, and feel free to complain about this set- we like cranky people.

Still have UD Documentary to give away
Last week I bought a blaster of UD Documentary and as soon as I opened them I remembered why I didn't want to buy any of these. I love ripping wax. I'm addicted to it, however, I don't really have a care for anyone that isn't on my favorite team or one of my favorite players.
So a whole set dedicated in equality to people I don't care about wasn't fun.
But I am sure it's fun for other people. Therefore I'm giving away my box of UD Documentary by team. I've already given away several teams.
Here's what I have left. Comment on the team you would like and shoot me an email with your address. These cards will be sent out by Monday. Anyone who picked teams got their cards in the mail today.
Angels - 2
Blue Jays - 5
Cubs - 4
Diamondbacks - 4
Indians - 1
Nationals - 4
Padres - 3
Pirates - 4
Red Sox - 4
Rockies - 3
Tigers - 4

UD Documentary: Anyone want?
I (Sooz) have a problem. I'm ready and willing to admit it because why else would I buy a blaster of UD Documentary after seeing Marie's posts about them.
It's because I have a cardboard problem, obviously.
However, I want to make my problems, your problems.
I don't have scans because I am not using the computer where the scanner is and, really, I'm too lazy to try and clear the cards off that desk to use it. However, I'm want to give away the cards I got in the UD Documentary.
So, if you want a particular team, let me know. The cards will be all yours. Here's the rundown of what I have with a team count.
Angels - 2
Blue Jays - 5
Brewers - 4
Cubs - 4
Diamondbacks - 4
Giants 5 (including Brian Wilson ASG)
Indians - 1
Mariners - 5
Marlins - 5
Nationals - 4
Padres - 3
Pirates - 4
Rangers - 5
Rays - 5 (including Navarro ASG)
Red Sox - 4
Rockies - 3
Royals - 3
Tigers - 4
White Sox - 5
Yankees are missing from the list because I am giving them to Marie.
Just leave a comment or send me an email and let me know which team you want. I'm doing it on a first-come, first-serve basis. As people request teams, I will take the teams name off the list.

Too Much Time on My Hands
I went to the mall early today, good thing because there was traffic in every aisle. With more than enough time to spare after running the one errand I had, I marched my butt to Target so I could rummage around.
4 2008 Sweet Spot Tins priced at $29.99 - No thanks. No need for a crappy $30 auto. (I mean I am going to get crap, if someone else bought it I am sure it would be major "MOJO")
2008 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects... unsearched as it seemed. Until I got to them. I won't lie, I bought only the thicker looking packs with no shame (shut up) for leaving the lonely thinner ones behind. I'll take my chances on a GU card since the Futures Game was at Yankee Stadium, I wouldn't mind a few of those.
I had $43 (yes, an odd amount) set aside for the last gift I had to buy for Christmas. Now I have $20, and that person will be fine since it's dear old Dad. I could get him toothpaste and he'd be happy, so we both will get a present now which makes me happy. (I will break these tomorrow while I'm again not at the gym *read: eating crap* due to a frickin Blizzard.)
Once I sort all these Documentary cards I will need places to send these. If you have a team preference, as well as Pujols cards please let me know.
Stay tuned....

Snow Day (Not) Fun With 08 UD Documentary

Lucky for me I ended up taking home the keys to the store last night by accident, forcing me to go there this morning before the snow started. I dragged my mom so she could pick up a Yankees wreath at 50% off, and for my good deed I bought another pack of 08 UD Documentary to make up for the pack I opened last night. (Issues, I know.)
These suck. Flat out suck. I like that for the money I get 15 cards, thats about it. Makes me feel like I go so much, when really all I got was crap.
I got 1 Pujols card in 5 packs, not one Yankee card. I also pulled my first White Sox card in 9 packs (Yes, it's all yours Steve). I got 2 YSL cards, a Guidry and Mattingly, and an All-Star game Fukudome card (no recollection of him playing in it, but then again I was sitting there for 18 innings so a lot of things went in and out of my brain that night).
I scanned some cards to make the blog look like this was fun. The gold cards that I got were scanned, except for the pack from last night since you all already know who that was.
Now I sit here with one hobby box, 2 blasters, a box of hazelnut coffee cups for my Keurig, and no desire to go to the basement and workout. I want to take a snow day on gym activities since I am always good about that, however I was planning on taking tomorrow off. Bah.
I will end up sitting on my ass playing with cards until I have to move. There is about 4"-5" of snow outside now, and the party I was supposed to go to later will probably have to go on without me since the road I need to take to get there is covered, and my brother is now sitting on that road for well over an hour trying to get home. (That hour plus should be 4 minutes tops.)
So feel free to comment, e-mail, etc. I am sitting here horsing around bored.

Can I Open Just One Pack?
I went to work a little bit early today to make sure I could purchase 2 things. One was the prize for the trivia, and the other was a Christmas gift from my unsuspecting uncle.
My uncle gave me a $50 bill and told me I had to buy something that came in a box and could be wrapped with a bow, meaning I couldn't use it to go out or drink 20 cups of coffee at Starbucks. He probably won't be surprised or happy about what I picked, but it's my gift. I grabbed a hobby box of 2008 UD Timeline (despite me wanting to kick their customer service team in the teeth), and am hopeful I got something decent under those wrappers.
While grabbing Steve's prize, I thought why not grab some snow day fun and get a few for myself. (Idiot.) I am trying very hard not to open one, but I am pretty sure I won't make it to the end of this blog without cracking it.
Is anyone else's family sick of buying them baseball cards for Christmas or is it just mine?
Ohhh--- Sneak preview, starting the 19th (today), all retired players autos in BC Sports are 40% off, and NFL Authentic jersey are 50% off as well as all holiday merchandise.
Oooouuchhhhh.... stop twisting my arm to open one pack, I'm goin, I'm goin.
OK, I got a Yankee Stadium Legacy card, and the rest of the pack was air. The gold card was Miguel Cabrera. No Yankees, no Pujols = AIR.
I wish I could get excited about cards in this set, but I just really don't care. They are decent looking cards, but I just want to get rid of most of them. I have lots of Cubbies if anyone collects them out there.

White Sox Cards Wins Pack Give Away!
I didn't think the question was all that easy, however Sooz would beg to differ. White Sox Cards was the first correct answer today, and won a free pack of 2008 UD Documentary to be sent out ASAP.
I'm too sleepy right now to try and string sentences together, but I am eagerly awaiting a trade with Dave from the Fielder's Choice blog as well as Cards in The Attic aka Aardvark Trading Co. Sent out their packages yesterday (I think it was yesterday), and am hoping to see my stuff Saturday or Monday.
I haven't been to my mailbox in days, I got one of those Keurig one cup coffee makers and haven't needed to go buy coffee near the post office since. I have also changed my blood type to Green Mountain as a result. Look for some caffeine induced random blogs on days where I didn't work.
Back tomorrow after work probably with some ridiculous waste of money story.

Sale on Cards at BC Sports and Trivia Contest
Just to let anyone who lives near a BC Sports store know that the whole store is on sale. All cards are 20% off, Jerseys 20% off, signed stuff is 20% off also.
The other stuff is a greater discount for the most part, like holiday stuff, mugs, glasses, etc.
I plan on buying something useless at some point.
Speaking of useless, here is a trivia question that I like to get people with:
Where was Pee Wee Herman's bike supposed to be when they stole it in the movie?
First correct answer gets a free 2008 pack of UD Documentary.
(Offer excludes Sooz who thought she could win.)

2008 UD Documentary

I bought these for no reason whatsoever. I stopped by work to pick-up my check, and saw that these boxes came in today. $2.99 per pack, and figured I would give them a whirl. Apparently they chronicle each teams entire season with one card per game (annoying) making the complete set well over 4,000 cards. I may develop an interest in the Yankees season, but probably not. As of now I just whatever Cardinals cards that Pujols is on. I managed to get one, miracle that was. I only got one Yankees card with Mariano on it. 4 packs, 60 total cards- 3 YSL cards, 1 Pujols, 1 Yankees, and 3 gold parallels. I got 7 Cubs cards which was the most of any team. Oddly enough, no White Sox which I purposely looked for, for Eric over at White Sox Cards.
The bright side is for three bucks, you get 15 cards. The downside is that the cards are pretty boring if you ask me.
