Game Used... Underwear?

I know there have been jokes about what part of the pants they choose to cut and put into game used pants cards, but this is a little goofy.

It seems as though someone took the time to custom make a custom card of Jay Bruce using his underwear... at least I am assume they are his underwear. Or he could be cutting up Hanes tighty whiteys and gluing them onto cards.

Maybe you are a Phillies fan and would prefer Ryan Howard's drawers.

Or.... Joe Mauer's drawers...

I guess everyone in baseball is a briefs kinda guy.

2010 Allen & Ginter 1/1

This is by far the goofiest eBay listing and might even be better than the revolving door autograph. You really need to check out this Felipe Lopez 1/1 "amazing pull".

You must tell me if you at least chuckled at this auction. It did make me feel better about some of the cards I've pulled from Ginter that were less than perfect.

Amazingly misleading Strasburg auction

I'm sure there are a number of these out there, but I ran across this auction for a retail box of 2010 Bowman Chrome.

Consumers should be aware of several things when it comes to the retail boxes.

1. There are no Strasburg autos in retail.

2. There are no on-card autos in retail.

3. The odds of pulling any kind of parallel other than a purple refractor are 1 in 32 packs.

I've been buying retail, but I know when I am getting. I just don't want to see people get hosed when buying cards to go with the hype.

You want to spend money on cards, I have no problem with that. Just PLEASE  be informed.

It has ended

The Stephen Strasburg superfractor auction has ended.

It didn't move in the last minute, which is popular with many auction. Not this one. I guess all the bidding prior to that was enough.

That auction ended at $16,403.

Sigh.

The things I could do with that money.

The Beckett Blog did an interview with the guy who pulled the card (link).

eBay Idiot of the week

Well, this one made me laugh out loud literally. It made me laugh for two reasons, one I have a metal card similar to this but it's a copper/gold looking one of a Topps card and two, who is the hell would pay for this?

This whole free listings thing on eBay is going to provide me with lots of idiots who decide that they are going to list a few real things since the other 100 crappy things were free.

Congrats dude, you are the Idiot of the Week. On the bright side, you can earn $200 in eBay bucks...

Anyone have spare change?

Clearly I need more homework, or something to be studying right now so that I am not rummaging through eBay looking for boneheads and crazy auctions.

I saw this Legendary Cuts and thought someone must have enough change on the floor in their car to buy this, and I am only asking for the Ruth for my finders fee...

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

eBay Idiot of the week

I'm surfing around eBay because I am a millionaire looking for cards (read: broke and sarcastic) of Adam Lind to finish a project, and I come across another one. Another bozo that thinks they have the card that will pay off their car loan, or student loan, or whatever.

Now granted, this Adam Lind 1/1 is a sweet looking card but, seriously dude? You wouldn't get that much if Albert Pujols signed that card. I happen to have the "crappy" version of the same card the that's serial numbered to /199, which I paid like $4.00 for at the time. Looks like I win.

This may become a routine post for us, finding idiots to post for our own amusement.

Can't wait to see what the 1/1 sells for....

EDIT: The same seller is also selling this Adam Lind 1/1, some "fan" is right.

Another day, another eBay idiot

I was looking around on eBay (shocking) and decided to see if there were anymore of those Montero auto cards that we showed from tntnorthnj a while back.

I never even got to look because I saw Jesus Montero Pro Debut and started laughing, and then the tears were streaming down because I was laughing so hard and now I can barely see to type this. (Of course, that is a minor exaggeration.)

Pity this fool, and look at what he has and what is he asking.

Oh man, I am so glad I collect someone cheap.

EDIT: Since I had to edit the broken link, the price has dropped by $1,001.05

Who wants to see a crazy eBay card?

The other night Sooz sent me a link to this 2010 Pro Debut Jesus Montero 1/1 card on eBay, which happens to be listed by everyone's buddy tntnorthnj.

Does anyone think this is a crazy amount for a game used patch like this? I find it a little ridiculous to be honest. I get that it's 1/1, but I just can't see spending that much money on a player that isn't even in the big leagues yet despite all the hype that he comes with. For that much money I could get an Albert Pujols auto card.

Cliff Lee Opening Day Error Follow Up

Just to let you all know there are now 60 different auctions for the Cliff Lee Opening Day card, and since last night they seemed to have dropped off to ending between $8-$15 dollars. Way to oversaturate the market all you guys that open cases (ahem, tntnorthnj who has about 20 up).

If you live near Wal-Mart, RUN THERE

OK, according to the checklist of Heritage cards the homerun chase series will include 15 cards of each Mantle, Maris, and Ruth. However, it appears that some people on eBay think that the Roger Maris ones are this super rare commodity and are trying to capitalize off of it.

There is a completed listing for $60.00, yes I said $60.00 and did not mean $6.00.

If you have these cards, now is definitely the time to list them.

Now drive safely to your local Wal-mart, we don't want to hear you got a speeding ticket like some of us, ahem.

Check out what just hit eBay, serial numbered 4/5 and something many Yankees fans are going to want. Just a matter of how crazy of an offer you are willing to make or just buy it outright....

The bright side of this purchase, you could make $19.99 in eBay bucks...

Cut Signatures from current players?

There seems to be an eBay seller creating their own "cut signature" cards of players that you can get real autographs on real cards from. I'm not really sure what possessed this person to make this ridiculous looking cards, or who would even want them but I figured you might want to see these. They are marked "1/1", and make no indication of where the signature came from, or whether or not the player actually signed them. The player is not even pictured on the cards.

I happened to find this while doing my usual search for Adam Lind, and then clicked to see what else they were selling and saw that they are making a bunch of them.

Ridiculous waste of money auction

So I am browsing eBay looking for Christmas gifts when I should be doing my homework, and when I paid for something those little boxes with things I may like come up. Rarely do I ever like any of them number one, and number two they are always hundreds of dollars that I don't have even if I did like them.

Here is the dumbest waste of money I have seen in the hour I have wasted of my life searching eBay.

Must be nice to have $900 bucks to blow on a crappy card with no auto.

Ridiculous Auction #3 of the Week

Adam Lind hit 3 homeruns tonight which is absolutely insane. It also sparked me to go hunting around eBay some more. (No, I still haven't scanned or written the intended post for today.)

Check out this auction which just went up today, and I know this because I search daily for his stuff. If you don't care to look, I will say the opening bid is $24,999.99. If that doesn't make you click it, sorry.

More about Lind tomorrow or Thursday from me.

Ridiculous Auction #2 of the Week

Yes, this is ridiculous but it has 25 bids and is legitimate. I just wanted to share this because I am watching it just to see what happens, not because I would ever be able to have this kind of extra money to spend on one card. I love Albert, but not this much. Check it out.

For those of you that follow me on Twitter, I did say I was going to show you my exciting mail.... but I have been playing on eBay and doing homework. I will scan the stuff tonight for another post.
