2009 Heritage High Number Series Packs

Can someone tell me why baseball cards are so addicting? No matter where I am I have to check to see if they sell baseball cards, or if I know they do I must stop and look. I wrote on twitter the other day that I picked up some packs since they were just putting them out, I got 4 Heritage and 4 T206 that are for Christmas.

I bought the Heritage to try and pull the Francisco Cervelli RC because I like him and he's Italian. No luck on the Cervelli RC, but I did pull a Matt LaPorta dark back (hubba hubba), 1 Chrome Refractor and 2 Chrome. For retail packs I think I did rather well. I scanned the packs because that's way more fun that reading words.

Pack 1: LaPorta (yum), and Andruw Jones /560

Pack 2: The Mlkman, Adam Dunn dark back
Pack 3: J.A. Happ (should be great for Philly), Juan Rivera /1960
Pack 4: Nyger Morgan (won my fantasy team a bunch of points til I dropped him), Josh Outman /1960
These were fun, even if there was no Pujols SP or Cervelli RC. The Jeter U&H card would have been cooler if that tool Youkilis was not on it.

I finally got it

It took many months of patience and bidding attempts on eBay but I finally got my 2009 Topps Heritage Albert Pujols C10 Chrome Refractor. Amen. Thanks to Amy for trading that and a bunch of YSL cards for the 1954 Bowman Burgess card.

Now for another card that I can cross off the want list that I never even put on there because I'm lazy. Dan over atSaints of the Cheap Seats was kind enough to send along a Career Best game used (so they say) bat card of Robbie Cano, which may complete the game used portion of Cano cards from 2009 Topps for me, I will have to check. I hope I can find something he might like, though I do think I have a little something to e-mail him about shortly.

My last piece of mail was from eBay, and was quite the bargain. eBay sponsors an "eBay bucks" program that is offered to select members, it may be open to everyone now I'm not sure and I accumulated $3.82 or something like that. I found the 2009 Allen & Ginter N43 Albert Pujols for $4.95 free shipping as a buy-it-now and pounced on it. The card cost me $1.13 total, and I couldn't be happier because the rest can be used to be some other thing I don't need on eBay.

Now onto big business... Does anyone have any Pujols from 2009 Allen & Ginter that they would want to trade me? I already have the mini, and mini black border as well as the N43. Let me know.

New season, same problem

To kick of the 2009 season, I will tell you of my purchase at work the other day. I noticed we got in some new single cards and I decided to flip through some of the piles since the store wasn't busy. The first time I did, I found nothing. Second time was the jackpot, for me and Sooz. I'm the best. I bought myself 2 cards, and picked up one for Sooz.

Here is what I picked up:

2009 Topps Heritage Chrome Phil Hughes - $1.00... after discount.... $0.80

2009 Topps Heritage Chrome Andy Pettitte - $1.00, after discount.... $0.80 (For Sooz)

2008 Bowman Chrome Phil Hughes - $1.00, after discount.... $0.80
Can't beat these 3 cards for $2.40 that's for sure. I was really surprised that they priced the chrome cards for only a buck, then again I don't care why they did. I didn't see any other chrome ones there otherwise I would have bought more for those prices.
Check out my post about the Yankees first game in their new stadium, which has a ton of pictures that took a loooooong time to upload.
