Bobblehead Night

When I got down to Sooz's house Wednesday I was looking at her bobblehead collection, and noticed that on one of the Trenton Thunder bobbleheads it said Friday nigh was Phil Hughes bobblehead night.

I then cleverly planted the seed (deviously, like Ralphie in A Christmas Story) in Sooz's head and began watering it.

It didn't take long to sprout into a trip to the Trenton Thunder tonight topped off by the Yankee game (though speaking of thunder, it is supposed to rain on and off all night from what I read on the net). She wanted the bobblehead as well, anyway. I only have one cool bobblehead, and it's a Jeter bust from Upper Deck probably 15 or so years old. Now Jeter will have someone to talk to when I'm not home to entertain him.

There are a couple more bobblehead giveaways at the Thunder, and I would probably be interested in going to both of them if they don't interfere with my school schedule later on.

I also saw that an Adam Lind bobblehead bobblehead exists on eBay, and I would like to pick one of those up one day. Perhaps I will even add Cano and Pujols bobbleheads to my shelf. Sooz is the bobblehead lady, but I think I would like one of each of the guys I collect.

Anyone going to any games tonight or this weekend?

Photos from Trenton Thunder

I went to a Trenton Thunder game last night for Joba Chamberlain bobblehead night. Because I was asked several times yesterday when I said I was going to the game, yes, I went by myself. I enjoy baseball and have no problem sitting there, keeping score and just enjoying the night.

I also wanted the bobblehead.

These were the only people writing down the lineup.

A new (Jeter) friend

I was on vacation last week. I didn't go anywhere, but I barely turned on my computer either. My vacation consisted of playing poker, playing Resident Evil 5, going to the movies and catching a Yankees game.
There were a lot of bubble mailers waiting for me and one package.
Here were the contents of the package:
Duane sent this Jeter Columbus Clippers bobblehead that I am sure was bugging him to find him a home. I know how these Jeter bobbleheads are. They just nag at you until they get to be someplace where they can thrive.
There were also some cards for Marie that I am sure she is going to love and a Jeter and Kevin Kouzmanoff Allen and Ginter mini AG backs (both needed).
This is the bobblehead:

It's good for Jeter because he gets to make a home with a few of his friends: a Trenton Thunder Jeter bobblehead and Yankees Jeter bobblehead, which I have never taken out of the box.

Those aren't the only bobbleheads I have. Here's the group of them. I don't have too many, but the ones I have, I love.

In order Hideki Matsui (minus the bat. I lost it), Scranton-Wilkes Barre Gavin Floyd (a reporter for a paper up there got it for me because I did a big feature on him when he was in the Phillies organization), Trenton Thunder Jeter, Yankee Jeter, Columbus Clippers Jeter, Paul O'Neill, Don Mattingly and Cole Hamels (still in the box). Below them you can see the top of a box of a Charlie Manuel bobblehead. I couldn't fit him on the shelf.
